Abdullah is an associate in our Regulatory and Public Policy practice and our Litigation and Dispute Resolutions practice and is providing advice to a number of Saudi regulatory authorities on the drafting a number of laws, regulations and proposed structuring for a number of projects.
Abdullah also advises a number of investors and creditors, as well as Saudi and international companies, on many issues, including a number of issues related to the financial market, bankruptcy procedures, and implementation.
Relevant experience includes advising:
- a Saudi Real Estate Company in relation to a claim of the ownership of part of a real estate asset
- Multiple International financial Institutions in connection with the bankruptcy procedures initiated with respect to Saad Trading and Financial Services Company and Maan Al-Sanea along with the settlement of outstanding debts with creditors
- a multinational company in the healthcare sector in relation to its commercial dispute in Saudi Arabia (judgment value exceeds SAR 1 billion)
- a Prominent Real Estate Investor Family in relation to a dispute in connection with real estate assets
- a Middle-eastern bank in relation to enforcements proceedings in Saudi courts against four separate Saudi corporates in the context of loan default
- a Saudi government authority in relation to an agreement with a real estate developer and subsequent claims of defaults in relation to this agreement
- a middle eastern company in its capacity as shareholder in a Saudi Company against claims by another shareholder in the same Saudi Company
- an International conglomerate in relation to a dispute relating to its JV in Saudi Arabia
- Multiple International Financial Institutions in relation to the debt restructuring and settlement of Ahmad Hamad Al Gosaibi & Brothers (AHAB)
- the Ministry of Finance and the National Debt Management Center in relation to the Saudi Riyal Sovereign Sukuk Program
- Titanium Dioxide Corporation in connection with the sale of the titanium dioxide business to Tronox Ltd. in a $1.7 billion deal
- The Real Estate General Authority in a number of regulatory issues related to real estate contributions
- organizational restructuring of a number of companies and government agencies, in addition to formulating a set of rules and regulations
- Bank Al Jazira to increase its capital by offering rights shares
- a large number of claimants in relation to a number of litigation and enforcement actions amounting to billions of US dollars
- Public Investment Fund on the SAR2.83bn acquisition of a 25% stake in Emaar, the Economic City through a debt for equity conversion
- Local companies in connection with the drafting and amendment of the constituent documents and related agreements
- a number of investors in relation to litigation matters considered by the Committee for the Resolution of Securities Disputes
- a number of local and international companies regarding corporate structuring and joint ventures.
